I'm Gerard Torres, a Director, Cinematographer, Screenwriter, and Editor based in Barcelona, Spain.
I was born in Reus (Tarragona, Spain) and studied Audiovisual Production at IES Pere Martell between 2013 and 2015. During that time, I had the opportunity to take part in international courses and collaborations in Lithuania, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, experiences that broadened both my technical skills and creative perspective.
Since then, I've worked across a wide range of productions, including short films, documentaries, music videos, commercials, promotional content, fashion films, and sports productions.
I am currently a filmmaker at Bysout Films, where I mainly develop music videos, documentaries, and branded promotional content. Since 2024, I have also worked as a Camera Operator for Dorna Sports on the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK), while continuing to collaborate with a variety of production companies on commercial and narrative projects.
Throughout my career, my work has received official selections and recognitions at several international film festivals, reflecting my commitment to strong visual storytelling and cinematic craftsmanship.
My passion for filmmaking began during my teenage years. I remember watching films differently from most people, paying close attention to the cinematography, lighting, composition, and the performances of the actors rather than simply following the story.
A few years later, I started creating my first serious videos at my local skatepark using borrowed cameras, filming my friends as we rode BMX together. Those early experiences taught me not only the technical side of filmmaking but also the value of telling authentic stories. I'm deeply grateful to everyone who believed in and supported my work during those years—it was then that I realized filmmaking was the path I wanted to dedicate my life to.
